Cindy Michaels’ Biography
Cindy Michaels has been a member of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church since 1984. She serves the church as Vestry for Outreach/Mission. She is also our Senior warden and a Lay Eucharistic Minister here. As our senior warden, Cindy assists with administration and many other duties. As our outreach vestry member, she helps us maximize our aid to the community. As well, she assists the priest in administering the sacraments of holy communion as Lay Eucharistic Minister.
Cindy Michaels received her BS in Occupational Therapy at the University of Alabama in Birmingham. She has received an MA in Child Development at Syracuse University. She is credentialed as a Yoga Therapist by the International Association of Yoga Therapy with training in Ayurveda as a Wellness Counselor. With 500 hours as an experienced Yoga Teacher, she is the owner of Wrens Nest Center for Wellbeing – a facility that was created for the mission to help promote healing and wellness.
She has three children who all grew up at St. Mark’s. Amanda and Chris Brown (daughter and son in law) and her grand children Arden Brown (who attends St. Mark’s Preschool) and Georgia Brown. Shannon and Drew Michaels (son and daughter in law) and her grandchild Mia Miachaels. Lastly, Hannah Michaels who is engaged to be married October 7 in Dalton to Ben Jackowski.
